Scope

This privacy policy informs users about the type, scope, and purpose of the collection and use of their data by the responsible provider.

The legal framework for data protection is formed by the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

Collection of General Information

With every access to this website, we or the web host provider automatically collect information—commonly referred to as server log files. These data are general in nature and do not allow conclusions to be drawn about an individual.

Collected data includes: website name, requested file, date, data volume, web browser and version, operating system, the domain name of your internet provider, referring URL (the page from which you accessed our site), and IP address.

This data is technically necessary to deliver and display the website. We also use anonymous data for statistical purposes to optimize the site and technology. We reserve the right to review logs retrospectively if misuse is suspected.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use the data you provide solely for this purpose or to inform you about matters relevant to this service or the registration for it. We do not share this data with third parties.

To receive the newsletter, a valid email address is required. Additionally, we store the IP address used during registration and the date on which you subscribed to the newsletter. These data serve as evidence in the event of misuse, such as when an unauthorized third party uses someone else's email address to subscribe.

To further ensure that no email address is added to our mailing list without authorization, we use the legally compliant "double opt-in" procedure. In this process, the newsletter subscription, the sending of the confirmation email, and the receipt of the confirmation reply are all recorded.

You have the right to revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data, email address, and their use for newsletter distribution at any time. A link to do so is provided in each newsletter and also on our website. Furthermore, you may communicate your revocation request using the contact details provided in this privacy policy.

Contact Form

When you contact us via the online form or email, we store the information you provide in order to answer your inquiry and address follow-up questions.

Integration of Third‑Party Services and Content

Our website offering occasionally includes content, services, and features from third-party providers. These include, for example, maps provided by Google Maps, videos from YouTube, and graphics or images from other websites. In order for this content to be displayed correctly in the user's browser, it is necessary to transmit their IP address. The respective providers (hereinafter referred to as "third-party providers") therefore receive the IP address of the user.

Although we make every effort to use only those third-party providers who use the IP address solely for the purpose of delivering content, we have no influence over whether the IP address may be stored by them. In some cases, this process may also serve statistical purposes. If we become aware that IP addresses are being stored, we will inform our users accordingly

Integration of YouTube videos

We use features from the YouTube video portal on our website, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

YouTube videos are disabled by default for data protection reasons. A connection to YouTube's servers is only established once you have consented to processing via our consent management tool (etracker). Only after your consent is given will the video be loaded and played. This may involve the transmission of personal data to the provider, in particular your IP address, device information, and, if applicable, tracking via cookies or similar technologies.

YouTube may also process your data in the US through Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which generally ensures an adequate level of data protection. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that the level of data protection in the USA may not meet EU standards and that access by US authorities cannot be ruled out.

The legal basis for processing is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time using our consent tool. To do so, click on the cookie settings link in the footer of the website.

Further information on data processing by YouTube (Google) can be found at:

Use of Google Analytics

This website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics allows the website operator to analyze the behavior of website visitors. In this process, the operator receives various usage data, such as page views, session duration, operating systems used, and the user's origin. This data may be aggregated by Google into a profile that is associated with the respective user or their device.

Additionally, Google Analytics can record mouse and scroll movements as well as clicks. Google Analytics also uses various modeling approaches to supplement the collected data sets and applies machine learning technologies for data analysis.

Google Analytics employs technologies that enable the recognition of users for the purpose of analyzing user behavior (e.g., cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The use of this analytics tool is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both its website and its advertising. If explicit consent has been requested (e.g., consent to the storage of cookies), processing is carried out exclusively based on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be withdrawn at any time.

The data transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.

IP Anonymization

We have activated the IP anonymization feature on this website. This ensures that your IP address is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Browser Plugin

You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please refer to Google's privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

Order Processing

We have entered into a data processing agreement with Google in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR and fully comply with the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic Features in Google Analytics

This website uses the "demographic features" function of Google Analytics to display targeted and relevant advertisements to website visitors within the Google advertising network. This function allows the creation of reports containing information about the age, gender, and interests of website visitors. These data are derived from Google's interest-based advertising and visitor data from third-party providers. It is not possible to associate these data with a specific individual. You can deactivate this feature at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described in the section "Objection to Data Collection."

Storage Duration

Data stored by Google at the user and event level, which are linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g., User ID), or advertising IDs (e.g., DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID), are anonymized or deleted after 2 months. For more details, please refer to the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=en.

Google Ads

The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising program provided by Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Ads allows us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when users enter specific search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Additionally, targeted advertisements can be displayed based on user data available at Google (e.g., location data and interests) (audience targeting). As the website operator, we can quantitatively analyze this data, for example, by determining which search terms triggered the display of our advertisements and how many ads resulted in corresponding clicks.

The use of Google Ads is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the most effective marketing of its products and services.

Data transfers to the USA are based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission. For details, please refer to: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks and https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.

Google Remarketing

This website uses the features of Google Analytics Remarketing. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Remarketing analyzes your user behavior on our website (e.g., clicking on specific products) to categorize you into certain advertising target groups and subsequently display relevant advertising messages to you when visiting other online platforms (remarketing or retargeting).

Additionally, the advertising target groups created through Google Remarketing can be linked with Google's cross-device features. This allows interest-based, personalized advertising messages, which are tailored to your previous usage and browsing behavior on one device (e.g., smartphone), to also be displayed on your other devices (e.g., tablet or PC).

If you have a Google account, you can opt out of personalized advertising at the following link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The use of Google Remarketing is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the most effective marketing of its products. If explicit consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively based on Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.

Further information and Google's privacy policy can be found at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=en.

Google Conversion Tracking

This website uses Google Conversion Tracking. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

With the help of Google Conversion Tracking, Google and we can identify whether the user has performed certain actions. For example, we can analyze which buttons on our website are clicked most frequently and which products are viewed or purchased most often. This information is used to create conversion statistics. We receive information about the total number of users who clicked on our ads and what actions they performed. However, we do not receive any information that would allow us to personally identify the user. Google itself uses cookies or similar recognition technologies for identification purposes.

The use of Google Conversion Tracking is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to optimize both their web offering and their advertising. If corresponding consent has been requested (e.g., consent to store cookies), processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.

For more information about Google Conversion Tracking, please refer to Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

LinkedIn - Insight Tag

The LinkedIn Insight Tag enables the collection of data regarding visits to your website, including the URL, referrer URL, IP address, device and browser characteristics (user agent), as well as timestamps. IP addresses are either truncated or hashed (if used to reach members across devices). Direct member identifiers are removed within seven days to pseudonymize the data. The remaining pseudonymized data is then deleted within 180 days.

LinkedIn does not share any personal data with the website owner but provides only aggregated reports (in which you are not identified) about the website audience and ad performance. Additionally, LinkedIn offers retargeting for website visitors, allowing the website owner to display targeted advertisements outside their website using this data, without identifying the member.

We also use non-identifiable data to improve ad relevance and to reach members across devices. LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal data for advertising purposes through their account settings.

Meta

We use the “Meta Pixel” of the social network Facebook on our website. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Meta”).

Purpose and Functionality

The Meta Pixel enables Meta to identify visitors to our website as a target group for the placement of advertisements (so-called “Facebook Ads” and “Instagram Ads”). This ensures that our advertisements placed via Meta are displayed only to users who have a genuine interest in our online offering. In addition, the Meta Pixel allows us to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns by tracking whether users were redirected to our website after clicking on an advertisement (“conversion tracking”).

Legal Basis

The use of the Meta Pixel is based exclusively on your prior consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25 (1) TTDSG. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via our cookie banner.

Data Transmission

When you visit our website, a direct connection to Meta’s servers is established. In this process, personal data – in particular information about your browser, your IP address and your user behavior on our website – may be transmitted to Meta. If you maintain a Facebook or Instagram account and are logged in, Meta can associate your visit to our website with your personal user account.

A transfer of data to the United States cannot be excluded. However, Meta Platforms Inc. (USA) is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and thereby commits to complying with European data protection standards.

Data Minimization

We store personal data in accordance with the principles of data minimization and data avoidance only for as long as it is necessary or required by law (statutory retention period). Once the purpose for collecting the information no longer applies or the retention period expires, we block or delete the data.

Your Rights to Access, Rectification, Blocking, Deletion, and Objection

You have the right to request, free of charge, information about the personal data stored by us and/or to request its rectification, blocking, or deletion. Exceptions to this include mandatory data storage required for business transactions or data subject to statutory retention obligations.

For these purposes, please contact our Data Protection Officer (contact details can be found at the end of the privacy policy).

To ensure that a data block can be considered at any time, it is necessary to maintain the data in a blocking file for control purposes. If there is no legal obligation to archive the data, you may also request its deletion. Otherwise, we will block the data if you so wish.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

To ensure that our privacy policy always complies with current legal requirements, we reserve the right to make changes at any time. This also applies in cases where the privacy policy needs to be adjusted due to new or revised services, such as the introduction of new service offerings. The updated privacy policy will take effect on your next visit to our platform.
